Branching into Agrochemicals

Branching into Agrochemicals Hansavivek NATIONAL ORGANIC CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES (NOClL) after com- pleting 15 years in petrochemicals, has diversified into agrochemicals by setting up a Rs 20 crore plant at Lote Parasuram in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra with a capacity to manufacture 500 tonnes of monocrotophos per annum. Technology employed is based on knowhow developed by RRL, Hyderabad, and adapted to NOCTL's needs by company's technical experts. Trial production at the plant started in March last. The project is the beginning of the company's diversification schemes. Manufacture of other insecticides and chemicals will be undertaken in due course. The company's letter of intent for manufacture of chlorofenvinphos has been extended upto end of June 1083, A letter of intent for manufacture of cypermethrin is expected shortly, The company has been selling this product based on imported technical material since October 1982.
