been mounting with increased production there is a move to raise coal prices by 10 to 14 per cent. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs is reported to have approved a 12 per cent price increase for Coal India (CIL and a 14 per cent rise for Singareni (SCCL). If this decision is endorsed by the cabinet, the new prices will be Rs 145.90 per tonne for CIL and Rs 154.75 per tonne for SCCL.
