Women s Status in Changing Agrarian- Relations-A Kerala Experience

This paper examines the changes brought about in the lives and status of women by changes in the agrarian structure.
The area studied is Palghat district in Kerala. The author examines how the progressive breakdown of landlordism in Palghat and the accompanying socio-cultural changes affected women belonging to different strata of the agricultural community.
