Three-Pronged Growth Strategy

Three-Pronged Growth Strategy Hansavivek NATIONAL RAYON CORPORA- TION's board has chalked out a three- pronged strategy for the future growth of the company. This strategy covers modernisation, expansion and diversification. Having completed the second phase of modernisation, the company has initiated the third phase to cover modernisation of steam anl additional power generation facilities with higher pressure large size coal fired boilers and mechanisation of coal and ash handling systems. Orders for two large boilers have been placed and are expected to be commissioned during this year, The ultimate objective is to phase out several existing old boilers by installing high pressure large boilers, augment power generation and simultaneously machanise all coal and ash handling systems. It is proposed to hasten the process of building up capacity in nylon tyre yarn and fabrics facilities. The recent policy change in industrial licensing provides opportu nity to expand capacity of nylon from 3.300 tonnes to 5,000 tonnes per annum as per the 'letter of intent' already received by the company. This will require substantial investments both in foreign exchange and in rupees.
