Amalendu Guha, ('Little Nationalism Turned Chauvinist', EPW, Special Number, October 1980) seems to have picked up more cudgels against the Assam movement than he can actually wield. In his zeal to drive home the point that the current movement in Assam is nothing but a chauvinist upsurge, Guha has not only resorted to muddled theorising and selfcontradictory statements but also to suppression and distortion of facts.
