December 26, 1981 EXPORTS of engineering goods in the first seven months of 1981-82 (April- October) at Rs 451 crore showed a growth of 19 per cent over the figure of Rs 378 crore in the corresponding period of last year. Even so, judged against the target for engineering exports for the current year, the performance is inadequate. The Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) still claims to be hopeful of achieving the target of Rs 1,150 crore, but it is not going to be esay to export goods worth Rs 700 crore in the last five months of the year.
