BUSINESS The United States may not be able to, may not even want to, reverse Israel's annexation of Golan Heights. However, in counting on a mild US reaction to its highly provocative action, Israel failed to allow for the United States' strategic interests in West Asia. These interests cannot .be adequately served by the 'United States' special relationship with Israel, however strong arid many-facieted this relationship may be and however powerful and militarily invincible Israel itself may be in relation to the Arab regimes.
