Into New Lines Hansavivek GWALIOR RAYON SILK MANUFACTURING (WEAVING) is not only expanding its traditional business but also diversifying into altogether new lines, it is engaged in stepping up its capacity for manufacture of caustic soda from 33,000 tonnes to 54,750 tonnes per annum and expects to establish the expanded capacity by the third quarter of 1982. Meanwhile, all the existing cells have been changed to the use of indigenously made titanium metallic anodes from graphite anodes. The company is also actively pursuing its application for grant of industrial licence for manufacture of 8 lakh tonnes per annum of cement at Jawad, a 'backward' area in MP. Besides, the company is participating in two new ventures. One is Bihar Caustic and Chemicals, for which civil work is to be taken up soon. It is expected that construction and erection work would he completed before the end of 1982.
