Iran Razor's Edge THE blood-letting in Iran continues unabated. Within weeks of their appointment the new President, Mohammed Ali Rajai, and the Prime Minister, Javad Bahonar, were killed in a bomb explosion in the Prime Minister's office on August 30. Several other government officials too perished with them. Three days later another two senior members of the ruling Iranian Republican Party (IRP) were assassinated. The government's retaliation has been swift and brutal. According to the leader of Mojahedeen i Khalq, As- soud Rajavi, at least 500 of its members have been executed and 2,000 arrested since June. Members of this group together with the Kurds have been the main targets of government repression in the last year.
