will not affect lndo-Soviet relations. For, the removal of the border issue would imply that the Soviet Union would enjoy, to that extent, less leverage with the Indian government. Besides, at this juncture, any weakening of lndo-Soviet relations would imply, in the absence of other options, problems in trade and military supplies, besides adversely affecting India's regional ambitions which have been so assiduously championed by the Soviet Union.
