Feeding Delusions Harjot Singh In independent India no region, community or social group wants to be told that it played second fiddle to the British Raj. This is even more true of the Punjabis, who with their recent material progress, have arrogated for themselves the status of the most progressive state in India. They want an equally progressive image of their past as of their future. Any questioning of this delusion is denounced as discrimination against the Punjabi.
