From Tyres into Cement Hansavivek collaborators for rendering engineering services and imparting knowhow for setting up a plant for manufacture of all-steel radial truck tyres in India. The collaborators, who have become leaders in radial truck tyre technology, have carried out additional development work for adaptation of their radial truck tyres to the special conditions of the Indian market. The coin- puny is also seeking recognition of the capacity achieved in the plant in accordance with the industrial policy statement of the Central government. The company has received a 'letter of intent' for establishment of an undertaking to manufacture 9 lakh tonnes of Portland cement per annum in MP. The state government has already granted a mining lease to the company, Technical collaboration agreements have been entered into with Blue Circle Industries of UK and Humphreys and glasgow Consultants, Bombay. Other steps are being taken to implement the project as expeditiously as possible.
