Both the Senate Foreign Relations and the Armed Services Committees will now have conservative chairmen. The political choice they have just made concerns not only Americans. The Carter administration's notions of how to deal with the rest of the world, though frequently incoherently executed, did differ from those of the President-elect. The rejection of 'liberal democratic values'
