man, but could open up in a critical fashion central issues about theory and praxis in Indian social science, and the understanding of the relationship between colonial, educational and intellectual contexts and the present state of Indian society. A reconsideration of the pioneers of Indian social science would certainly make for an interesting seminar, One would also hope that the ICSSR would undertake a project to collect the papers and correspondence of people like DP before they go to the white ants.
