Into 1980 Romesh Thapar IF nothing else was needed to complicate and confuse our harassed lives, that strange non-person, the Election Commissioner, who delayed our midterm poll for three months on the plea that the Electoral Lists had to be updated, managed to establish our total inefficiency or perversity by producing lists in the Capital and elsewhere which did not have the names of thousands who had voted in 1977. And those who were on the lists were four years younger! I think we should sack the incompetent and get ourselves a reorganised Election Commission capable of dealing with snap challenges. What's more, there are too many question-marks over Shakhder's 'impartialities'.
