The Strange Quiet
Romesh Thapar THE strange quiet which we had begun to notice in Delhi some weeks ago is so persistent that a whole lot of people are beginning to compare 'these days' unfavourably with even those impacted by the caretakership of Charan Singh If this show of incompetence and in- decisiveness, punctuated by excitement over irrelevancies, is not ended by an Indira Gandhi showing more interest in vulership than titular ritual, common folk will soon be describing the present regime as an undertaker government. It would mean a major loss of faith in 'the magic touch'.
