First., in industries using agricultural raw materials, invariably there appears to have been a widening of the gap between raw material prices and prices of the finished industrial product. For instance, the benefits of the large import of cotton and rot ton substitutes in terms of lower raw material costs for the textile industry have not gone to the consumer but have been appropriated by the industry.
