september 22, 1979 a meeting between the Afghan President and Zia-ul-Haq of Pakistan, and following this meeting, it was expected that the dialogue between Pakistan and Afghanistan would be resumed. It would be most surprising if opposition to any normalisation of relations with Pakistan did not exist in the PDF, especially in view of the fact that the regime has been subjected to constant pressure during the last one year and more by Islamic guerillas trained and financed by Pakistan and Iran.
