India s Economic Crisis-A Comment
India's Economic Crisis A Comment Kitty Menon IN "India's Economic Crisis: Dialectics of Sub-Imperialism'' (EPW, March 3, 1979), Ranjit Sau presents an interpretation of the crisis in India, in which he very correctly tries to locate the causes in the structures and processes underlying the economy, rather than being content with dealing with its outward manifestations. This approach is to 'be welcomed. However, since there is a show at least of using the Marxian framework, and a reference to "Capital" for substantiation of the argument, for anyone even slightly familiar with the Marxian analysis of crisis, serious disagreements must arise with the points and interpretations given by Sau in his article.
