The Scale of Disarray

The Scale Romesh THERE'S no getting away from it any more. The Janata party is digging its grave with remarkable speed. It may survive as a conglomeration depending on the longevity of Morarji Desai, but already the coalitionist character of the party is getting emphasised from day to day. Individual ministers are also passing the buck, making known what they would like to do, but implying that their hands are tied. The effort to hammer out a minimum, time-bound programme is not even attempted to be made. Result: the scale of disarray is frightening.
