China and Viet Nam WHILE your editorial note "China and Viet Nam" (March 3) is convincing in its simple and straightforward analyst of the situation in Indochina, the article by GPD only obfuscates the real issues. GPD calls the present Chinese leadership "Han chauvinist", "revisionist", and "adventurist" at various places in this article. He even equates the Soviet intervention in and continued occupation of Czechoslovakia and the Soviet-backed Vietnamese occupation of Kampuchea with the Chinese counter-attack in Viet Nam, According to him, "not all these cases are identical.,. but the basic fact is the same".
