THE futility of fixing an absurdly low minimum wage of Rs 100 per month, as recommended by the Study Group on Wages, Incomes and Prices, has been commented on in these columns ('Dangerous Doctrine', May 27). Even curiouser are the Group's views on the subject of minimum wages for agricultural labour. These views appear to have escaped notice in the controversy over the Group's recommendations relating to wages of workers in the organised sector.
