Pinch of Recession

Pinch of Recession Hansavivek RICHARDSON AND CRUDDAS increased its sales to Rs 13.51 crores in 1976-77 from Rs 11.59 crores in the previous year or by 17 per cent. The company has been, however, feeling the pinch of the recession. Thus the total sales of its Byculla works in 1976-77 was slightly lower than in the previous year owing to a steep fall in the production of railway points and crossings. The shortfall was made up by the Mulund works which went into production in January 1976 and contributed Rs 2.55 crores to the company's turnover in 1976-77.
