"THE Congress and Janata are just the same. The only difference today is that the mother and sen are out of the way.'' That seems a fairly general sentiment, as each day unfolds at the Shah Commission an extraordinary misuse of powers under the last Congress regime. But the comparison becomes relevant as reports come in of Janata ministers, PAs and the like interfering with normal procedures and throwing their weight about. Indeed, the educative value of the Shah Commission is much reduced by current actions which are cynical and authoritarian. An undeclared emergency, that's what it is, say the angry- ones.
