Setback for Teachers' Struggle THE University of Bombay is one of the first modern Universities to be founded in the country. But that is not the only distinction it has acquired over the years. In recent years particularly, it has also achieved several other firsts. Its present vice-chancellor, himself a former teacher of law, was among the first ones of his tribe to have conveyed to the local Congress bosses of the day his enthusiastic support for the Emergency. Its Academic Council, at the express urging of the same vice-chancellor, was undoubtedly the first in the country to introduce a course in its Law faculty on the 20-point programme.
