"dictatorship by itself, "democracy by itself"; both dictatorship and democracy are used as abstract, absolute concepts, totally opposed. Consequently it opposes the organisation of workers as the dominant class by means of control of state power and democratic mass struggle for the emancipation of workers. In other words, it confounds the dictatorship of the proletariat with a certain form of repressive government associated with certain 'socialist' states whereas the concept refers to the class content of state power and has for its objective the destruction of the existing state apparatus, on which is based the class dictatorship of the bourgeoisie
