TATA IRON AND STEEL COM-PANY'S operating results for the half-year ended September 1976 arc good. Operating the plant at 97 per cent of capacity, the company produced 728,600 tonnes of saleable steel against 696,600 tonnes in the half-year ended September 1975 and 1,486,000 tonnes in the whole of 1975-76. Sale of steel was 674,000 tonnes against 623,900 tonnes and 1,337,000 tonnes and total income was Rs 152.61 crores against Rs 136.89 crores and Rs 287.63 crores, respectively.
