BOKARO STEEL has doubled its production capacity for pig iron and saleable steel by commissioning recently t h e second blast furnace. The first blast furnace, commissioned in Octo-ber 1972, has been producing at more t h a n its rated capacity. At the close of 1975-76, its performance has been 109 per cent of the rated capacity, which is the highest yearly production since it was commissioned. Many a time daily production has exceeded the rated capa-city, and the highest daily output has been 3,432 tonnes, which was 130 per cent of the rated capacity.
