Sugar- Short Memory

THE current sugar season will end in a few weeks. The crushing season is already over. It was only on August 7 that industry issued the figures of pro' duction, despatches and stocks for June. That did not, however, stop the industry from floating reports that it would need as much as Rs 300 crores of credit at the end of September since it would have to find physical and fin- ancial accommodation for carrying 1.5 mn tonnes of stocks.
