BIHAR Material Base of Santhal Movement REPORTS of a Santhal separatist movement in Bihar appear now and then and it: is said that while the demand for a separate jharkhand of the Santhals is an old one, what distinguishes the present movement is the violence that underpins it. The violence is said to have been brought into the movement by the new leadership, prominent among whom is Shibu Soren.
