Making the Most of It All Hansavivek GAHWARE NYLONS is diversifying its activities. It is already setting up a project for manufacture of polyester filament yam with a capacity of 360 tonnes per annum, which is expected to go on Stream during the second quarter of 1975. Steps have been taken also to instal a depolymerisation plant for recovery of caprolactum from polymer waste. This plant is expected to be commissioned by about the same time as the first plant. The company proposes to participate in a joint venture to be established in Malaysia for production of man-made fibres. Terms and conditions of the proposal are being negotiated with the State Development Corporation of Negri Sembilan, Malaysia. The company has negotiated, along with other companies in the Garware group, for acquisition of 49,500 equity shares of Rs 10 each in Blundell Eomite Paints from Blundell Permoglaze Hold- ings of the UK at Rs 20 per share. The paint company has to reduce its foreign shareholding to be eligible for further expansion of business.
