The Gujarat Phase Romesh Thapar THE Gujarat crisis is far from fesolv- ed. With the Assembly dissolved under massive public pressure, the movement will now gear itself for early elections, possibly before the presidential contest in August even though the le- gal pundits argue that it is not necessary to complete them by that date. The antics of the old politicians, Mo- rarji Desai and the opportunist "leaders" of opposition parties, are designed to push mass discontent in this direction.
