 Calcutta Diary AM THE democratic process marches on. In the columns of a Calcutta newspaper, letters from assorted readers, offering comments on the relative rate? of economic growth in this country and, predictably, China, receive the pride of place. Ah, well, some of these letters arc found to grunt, the Chinese might have made better material progress, they might have more to eat, better education and better health, but they have no freedom of expression, they do not have any democracy. Count your blessings, here in India the democratic process marches on. We still can call a skunk a skunk, and get away with it. We can choose, through the exercise of the free vote, our own representatives.
