The Diversification Round Hansavivek RALLIS INDIA, which has hern steadily widening its manufactuimg base and diversifying its activities, is going further in this direction. It proposes to enter the field of electronics and to manufacture; and assemble electronic and electrical equipment of all kinds including components and accessories. Already engaged in the business of exporting frozen fish and marine products, the company now proposes to take up trawling for fish and marine products as well as processing, refrigerating, and freezing of marine and other products. The government has approved the company's proposal to set up a garment manufacturing unit for export garments and other textile articles; the company has been exporting garments. The company also intends to start production of basic and fine chemicals which will increase the formulation activities of the pharmaceuticals division. As a recognised export house, the company is thinking of establishing offices and branches and of incorporating new companies outside of India as part of export promotion, The company's manufacturing base, increased substantially after the merger of Tata Fison Industries (TFI) with it on September 1, 1972. The cash flow generated, according to chairman J D Choksi, will provide resources for the proposed expansion an diversification.
