WITH both the ruling party and the Akalis concentrating on the problems of (he rich Fazilka-Abohar belt, cotton has entered Punjab politics in a big way. Though Punjab has only 6 per cent of the country's total area under cotton, it accounts for 15 per cent of the output. Aware of their position in the state's economy, cotton-growers have been eompbin-ing about low procurement priccs and faulty operations of the Cotton Cor-poration of Indra.
