Seeking Salvation the Parliamentary Way M R IT might be premature to assess the potential of the limited accord the CPI(M) and the Socialist Party have reached on launching mass struggles and campaigns against the government's policies and projecting an alternative time-bound programme for a viable, radical alternative to the ruling party. The recent struggles in the country, amidst a serious economic crisis, have been spontaneous and sectional in character, lacking a common focus. The two parties, which have discovered an area of agreement at their New Delhi talks, have promised to give these movements the much-needed focus.
