BANGKOK- The Reluctant Domino

SIX months after the Vietnam ceasefire, Thailand is bending backwards to establish normal relations with China. When on August 15 the United States bombing of Cambodia reaches the cutoff point the last of the contemporary Indochina wars will be winding down. The bombing is now carried out mostly from Thai bases, and is directed from the Nakhon Phanom base. United States pilots are training Cambodian pilots in Thai bases so that they can bomb their own homeland. There will be an obvious limitation here. When the war in Cambodia ends, the domino theory will be put to test. But not to its final test because the United States will still be militarily present in Southeast Asia
