ECAFE Regions Development Lagging
A REVIEW of the economic situation in Asia, prepared by the United Nations Economic Commission for Asia and the Far East (ECAFE), underlines that, considering the trends of investments, domestic savings, and foreign develop-ment assistance to the region's develop-ing countries at the end of the 1960s and the beginning of the 1970s, there are reasons for grave concern about the region's future growth performance. The review Is contained in Part One of ECAFE's annual Economic Survey of Asia and the Far East, 1972 which will serve as a basic document for the forth-coming 29th Session of ECAFE, in Tokyo, between April 11 and 23.
