Textiles EXPORTS of mill-made cotton textiles which rose consistently from Rs 82 crores in 1967-68 to Rs 115 crores in 1970-71, suffered a setback in 1971. 72, declining to Rs 110 crores. The decline was shared mainly by cotton piece-goods and cotton yarn, while exports of apparel increased substantially. During the last five years exports of cotton piece-goods have fluctuated between Rs 60 crores and Rs 68 crores. What is disturbing about cotton yarn is that exports spurted from Rs 7 crores in 1967-68 to Rs 29 crores in 1969-70 but thereafter they declined rather sharply to Rs 21 crores 72.
