WEST BENGAL WHILE the attention of the world is focused on the more momentous events across West Bengali eastern frontier, cold-blooded and calculated liquidation of organised Left is proceeding apace in tin's state. Massive attacks on CPI(M) bases jointly by armed police and armed Congress bands, pointblank shootings of boys and girls, inhuman atrocities on detained men and women and cases of people burnt alive, have been followed by another, the sixth, massacre of undertrial prisoners and detenus in jail, in which, according to the official handout, six prisoners have already been killed and over 200 injured, many of them so seriously as to be hovering between life and death.
