A President Prime Minister? Romesh Thapar POLITICAL circles are more than ordinarily agitated by the reports now current about the factional in-fights and out-fights which are under way. If these reports are to be believed, we would come to the conclusion that the world of the jungle has more discipline and decorum. What is, in fact, happening is a reflection of Indira Gandhi's battle to establish her rulcrship as supreme at the centre and in the states. The battle is forced upon her as she moves to consolidate her hold on the complex mechanics of the State assembly elections due early next year.
