Sampling Theory Condensed "SAMPLING Theory of Surveys with Applications", by P V Sukhatme and B V Sukhatme, is a revised edition of a book written by P V Sukhatme some 16 years ago. During the intervening period, several developments have taken place in the theory and applications of large- scale sample surveys. In India, the National Sample Surveys were organised and continued contributions were made, mainly by the Indian Statistical Institute and the Statistical Wing of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. A revised edition of an earlier book on sampling theory and applications is, therefore, a welcome development. Tine Sukhatme brothers have special expertise and practical experience in thin field, and these are amply reflected in the lucid exposition of the theory, the illustrations, and the compilations of exercises at the end of each chapter.
