Calcutta Development- Hesitant Beginnings

Indo-Nepalese relations have deteriorated was the recent refusal by Nepalese dignitaries to inaugurate the Rs 20.6- crore India-aided Trisull hydro-electric project in north-central Nepal. The formal reason given was that the project had been already inaugurated once by King Mahendra on February 24, 1967 after its first stage had been completed. This is not the first such incident In November last year an Indian Film Fes- tival which was proposed to be held in Kathmandu was cancelled at the very last moment.
