New Passions Romesh Thapar WHATEVER the constitutionalists have fo say about the propriety of Indira Gandhi's executive moves against the princes following the failure of legisla- tive action, the hard fact remains that for the moment the people will acclaim her as a decisive, committed leader. Even the reaction among the legalistic is casual, The more she whips a discredited, pseudo-democratic system, the more adulation is showered upon her. Even though the implications of recent executive actions may be graver than most imagine, Parliament and those who have been performing inside it have themselves to blame for what is happening.
