No Longer Right-Footed?
THE 1960s, particularly the postal 967 election years, witnessed rapid economic growth with political stability in Gujarat: On the whole, there had prevailed a mood of satisfaction and optimism as to the economic prospects and political future of the State. The tail- end of 1969 saw all that pushed into the background. With the split in Congress, Gujarat's ruling party finds itself in the position of an opposition vis-a-vis the Centre.
