November 29, 1969 Hafizka is expected to resign his Presidentship of BPCC to leave him free to choose his own course. For the moment he is still unwilling to incur the displeasure of Patil as well as his other benefactor, Nijalingappa. However, indications are that he will ultimately be pursuaded by Chief Minister V P Naik and MPCC chief Vasant- rao Dada Patil to fall in line with the Indira Gandhi faction. Once this is achieved it will not be difficult for Indira Gandhi supporters to capture S K Patil's erstwhile stronghold.
