It is against this background that knowledgeable circles claim that BKD will emerge from the poll as the second largest party after Congress. The Table shows an assessment by these circles of the prospects of the different parties, The election tempo is yet to build up except among candidates and party managers. Apart from BKD, a number of other parties will make their first appearance in the mid-term poll.
