December 7, 1968 been wise enough to know that the Rs 16 per tonne rise demanded by the industry is only a partial representation of facts. While reflecting the cost increases under the 13 heads tinder the Tariff Commission's own formula, there are many other heads of cost control within industry's reach and manoeuvrability. Under these cost reduction can and does take place. Consequently, the net cost increase to the industry is nearer Government's estimate. Why, then, is Government still ready to support the industry through controls?
