Foreign Investment A Correspondent writes: THE seminar on International Investment in New Delhi concerned with stimulating foreign interest in investment could not have been timed more auspiciously. Two satisfactory monsoons have provided the necessary stability to the price situation. Gradually, the economy is getting out of the recession, and one can see after a long time some renewed buoyancy in the outlook of industrialists. Government's statement on the setting up of the Foreign Investment Board and the announcement of policy (including lists of industries) relating to foreign participation came on the eve of the seminar. The statement was appreciated not so much for its details as for its enunciation of policy and as evidence of continued Government interest in this regard.
