Indecisive Mood

INDECISION persists. The only re-deeming feature of last week's trading was that the stock market did not seek a new low, But while the market managed to keep above its previous week's low, it was unable to make any significant headway. The turnover was poor, interest very selective and fluc-tuations irregular. Short covering and occasional support which imparted a measure of steadiness to the market were induced mainly by consideration of its improved technical position. Tho week's news provided a mixed fare. There was little which could inspire bulls or bears to assume an aggressive posture. Both preferred to mark time, hoping for a more favourable oppor-tunity to strike
